New lids feel like 7-11

Are these new cheaper and not as well designed lids being rolled out everywhere? I just got my morning drink and am not to happy with the new lids. They feel like they would be hard for the baristas to put on without smashing, and they just dont’ feel sturdy like a Starbucks to-go cup should feel.
Anybody else have these lids? Am I the only one that thinks they look and feel way to cheap for Starbucks? I guess they’re having to compete with McDonalds across the board now huh?

YES!! I’m thoroughly upset with this move. Half the reason I pay $1.75 for a cup of coffee every morning is the consistency… and there’s also a psychological association I consciously enjoy. BAD MOVE. Now I remove the lid at my desk because I don’t like it, and the coffee’s cold before I can finish it!
I’m down in Portland and I hadn’t been able to get a straight answer until now.
I wonder what Dunkin Donut’s coffee is like? …bet they got the same lid.
As a Starbucks barista, these things bug the hell out of me. I work at the highest volume store in my district and it takes an extra few seconds to put them on, which slows down the speed that we can get drinks out to you. Sure, they’re made from recycled materials but it seems like the quality really went down and there’s a pretty high amount of frustration amongst us baristas.
Maybe they should think of a way to make them that doesn’t result in a finished product that feels like it will pop off the cup at any moment?
