No decaf black and tan?

I went to the Upper Queen Anne Starbucks tonight and tried to get a decaf “black and tan.” A new drink that is being tested in two Seattle stores that is double strength Italian Roast coffee with velvety foam. However, for some reason you can’t ask to have them make a decaf Italian, or any other roast in the drink. I asked why, and the basica response was because it would take to long (even though there was nobody else in line) and when pressed further I got the response that they were just testing out the black and tan at that at this point they won’t make it with any other beans. Interesting.
Was I told no by Starbucks? Sure seems like I was.

In Hanover, PA they’re not making any kind of decaf. I affects me because I have a medical condition that leaves me only allowed to drink/eat stuff with no caffeine. Tough luck on you.
